Since
1805
Truefitt & Hill,
the world's oldest barbershop, has been court barber to the British
Royal Family. To this day, a Truefitt & Hill barber calls on H.R.H.
Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace and/or
Windsor Castle. Other notable clients have included every reigning
British Monarch from King George III to the more contemporary men of
renown such as Winston Churchill, Field Marshall Lord Montgomery,
Alfred Hitchcock and H.R.H. Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales. Such
royal service, steeped in nearly 200 years of English tradition is now
being offered by Truefitt and Hill in its first location in the United
States at 900 North Michigan Shops in Chicago. Our full range of
gentlemen's services include the finest haircuts found anywhere, hot
lather shaves, relaxing stress relief massages, cleansing herbal steam
facials, manicures, pedicures, shoeshines and even full body massages
given by the Four Seasons Hotel health club massage therapists (sold
only with the "Buckingham Palace" package).
The entrance of Truefitt & Hill is fixtured with an antique
mahogany apothecary built in Bristol, England in 1878. Here we sell
English made shaving stands and razors, shaving supplies, triple milled
soaps, bath gels, fine hairbrushes, combs, and related items.
The barber shop is exquisitely adorned with antique barber chairs, dark
green marble floors, white pillars, forest green moire wall coverings
with brass wall sconces and framed lithographs of famous English
estates. An oil painting of a whippet hangs over the antique, burgundy
leather-fitted shoeshine stand.
Here, at Truefitt & Hill, a man can find refuge from today's fast
paced world while receiving quality service from our staff of
experienced professionals. |
